Christian entrepreneur Angie Cella’s journey to becoming a self-made millionaire is one marked by persistence.
Rinker School of Business students and the public can hear Cella’s remarkable success story 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 in the Weyenberg Center, 900 South Olive Ave. Cella chronicled her story in her recently-released book, BLINGER: An Entrepreneur’s Faith-Based Journey.
Cella was a successful vice president of a skincare and cosmetics company when inspiration for invention struck. She overcame uncertainty, setbacks and inexperience in product manufacturing to launch Blinger, a device that puts pearls and crystals in hairdos. Her book explores the lessons she learned along the way.
Blinger is now carried by major retailers and has sold more than $22 million wholesale and $50 million retail. In 2020, Cella received the Inventor of the Year Wonder Woman Award from Women in Toys.
“The world might not need a Blinger, but it does need exactly what you have to offer and that only you can bring into it,” Cella said. “You’re not replaceable; you’re essential.”
Cella is president at GEMC2, executive regional vice president at Arbonne International and the mother of four children. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to hard work and motivating others to achieve their own dreams.
