Pharmacy Professor Dr. Elias Chahine has been named president-elect of the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP).
Chahine is a professor of pharmacy practice in the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy and clinical pharmacy specialist at Wellington Regional Medical Center. He began his academic career at PBA in 2007 as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice. He maintained a practice site at JFK Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist from 2008 to 2015, and he has been practicing at Wellington Regional Medical Center since 2015.
His primary responsibilities include coordinating and teaching the integrated infectious diseases pharmacotherapy course, precepting students and residents and engaging in scholarship and service.
Chahine has authored more than 70 articles and continuing education programs in the areas of infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, immunizations, geriatrics, pharmacy education, global pharmacy and medical missions.
FSHP is the professional association of pharmacy practitioners that promotes and supports the continual improvement of pharmaceutical care and the profession of pharmacy as an essential component for the delivery of health care. It is a state affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
