Saturday, October 28, Palm Beach Atlantic University’s (PBA) Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy and Student-Athlete Committee came together to host a Health Fair and Trunk or Treat for the community. The Rinker Athletic Campus was flooded with costumed children, all hoping for a bit of candy.
The pharmacy school put together a Health Fair with tables on different health subjects, sharing education on various health issues including diabetes, blood pressure and more. Sports teams were dressed in themed costumes – the women’s tennis team dressed up as princesses, the softball team as SpongeBob, and the baseball team dressed as characters from The Sandlot. They stood next to their decorated cars with games and candy, and interacted with PBA fans, families and other members of the community. Children could also venture over to bounce houses, giving parents a chance to visit booths.
Overall, the evening was a success, and it gave the community an opportunity to deepen their knowledge on health-related topics as well as interact with PBA’s student-athlete population.
