The audience who gathered at the Society of the Four Art’s Philip Hulitar Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach on Sunday, December 10, agreed that there was no better way to celebrate the Christmas season than at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Concert Choir’s third annual Carols on the Lawn event.
The Gardens’ vegetation and elegant ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for the concert.
The beautifully arranged vocal set included creatively reimagined Christmas classics performed by the twenty-four choir members, such as Pentatonix’s upbeat acapella rendition of “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and an energetic version of “Jingle Bells,” with audience members provided small bells to help with sound effects for the choir.
Sonia Santiago, director of Choral Activities at PBA, shared her joy over the concert’s success and her gratitude towards the Society of the Four Arts for hosting the event. “They graciously host us [on a] Sunday afternoon right at the top of the season,” she added, “it serves as a great way for us to connect to the community…just across the water.”
Santiago described the Carols on the Lawn event as something that allows her and the choir to “get to do what we love” while stating that the concert is an assembly that “the community seems to enjoy.”
During a brief concert intermission, she announced that the PBA Concert Choir will soon be performing at Walt Disney World’s Epcot and New York City’s Carnegie Hall next March.
We wish them the best of luck as they take to these great stages!
