Biography

Mr. Sowers is currently working on his Ph.D. at Regent University. He began teaching communication courses in 2006 at Palm Beach Atlantic University as an adjunct instructor. For many years, Joseph provided education as a youth educator to students in Palm Beach County via a character-building/whole-person health curriculum at middle schools, high schools and colleges – as well as in online environments. He co-wrote and designed the age-appropriate curriculum. He served as a team leader, project manager, and program director at a non-profit organization, supervising a staff team of 16 and implementing several major grant awards of $800,000 and $600,000 annually. He founded a 501c3, education-based non-profit, and served for five years as its CEO and chairman of the board of directors. In 2013, Joseph helped create a department of communication within a non-profit women’s health clinic, serving in the role of communication director through March 2017. He designed, managed, and gave oversight to the organization’s media, online presence, social networking, technology, and websites. Among Joseph’s chief passions is having the privilege of educating university students in communication-related courses. However, most of all, he loves spending quality time with his wife and three sons. Whenever possible, he ventures out on his kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and/or Versaboard as he deeply enjoys the outdoors. His amateur photography of nature and wildlife can be seen at www.facebook.com/InTheWildImaging.
