Biography
Dr. Walton recently joined Palm Beach Atlantic University as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2023 and completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Gregory School of Pharmacy. During her residency, she primarily worked at Wellington Regional Medical Center, where she also took on weekend staffing. Her experience extended to Elite Coastal Health Care and the West Palm Beach VA, giving her a well-rounded background in inpatient care, transitions of care, and ambulatory care. In May 2024, she participated in her first medical mission trip to Honduras with the Gregory Center for Medical Missions, which showcased her commitment to service and community outreach.
Dr. Walton has been an active leader throughout her academic journey, serving as President of both the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) and Rho Chi Honor Society in pharmacy school. She developed innovative study tools, including disease state and medication charts, and worked to strengthen ties with a nearby medical school through various community events and fundraisers aimed at promoting faith and service.
Her residency research centered on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Liver Disease, where she explored pharmacist-led screening and interventions. This work highlighted her commitment to advancing the role of pharmacists in patient care. At Wellington Regional Medical Center, she contributed to multiple Pharmacy and Therapeutics committees, focusing on formulary considerations, medication use evaluations, and medication safety updates. She also prepared newsletters and lectured at medical noon conferences. Prior to joining Palm Beach Atlantic University, Dr. Walton served as both a resident and guest lecturer, sharing her knowledge and expertise with students. She currently resides in Delray Beach with her husband.
