Biography
Prior to joining the nursing faculty at PBA, Dr. Bowser served as assistant professor of nursing and clinical adjunct at Mount Aloysius College in central Pennsylvania and as maternal child adjunct at PBA. As a registered nurse with 33 years of experience, she has worked primarily in the areas of community health, maternal child, and adult health. Dr. Bowser demonstrated her clinical expertise in labor & delivery and medical-surgical nursing at Nason Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Altoona campus. Her leadership experience also includes serving as the nursing chairperson for the Hollidaysburg School District. Dr. Bowser’s research focus is with adolescent and adult health disparities and early interventions that will promote and improve health. She has been actively involved in mission projects, including trips to Puerto Rico and Guatemala. Dr. Bowser has served as a child sponsor for Samarian’s Purse and World Vision, and as a host family for a teen from China. She attends Family Church Downtown in West Palm Beach. She and her husband, Todd, have been married for 33 years. They have three grown children and one grandchild.
