Biography
B.S., Florida Atlantic University. Pharm.D., Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy. A South Florida native and Sailfish Alumna, Dr. Jessica B. Finke joins the faculty as Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Upon graduation from the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Finke completed both her PGY-1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency and Enhanced Community Pharmacy Services Fellowship at Palm Beach Atlantic University, in West Palm Beach, FL. During these two years of post-graduate training, she gained experience in the community-based pharmacy setting through development and implementation of patient-centered enhanced services at independent community-based pharmacies. At the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Finke teaches over-the counter medications, self-care, communications, and servant leadership. Dr. Finke serves the profession of pharmacy at multiple levels including within the School of Pharmacy and through regional and national positions. Within the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Finke serves on the Residency Advocacy Committee and Student Affairs Committee. She also serves as co-advisor of the student chapter for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), co-advisor of the Beta Phi Chapter of Phi Delta Chi, and champion for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s (AACP) ACT (Academia-Community Transformation) Pharmacy Collaborative. Dr. Finke is a preceptor for first-year and fourth-year pharmacy students at an independent community pharmacy, Progress Pharmacy. Regionally, Dr. Finke serves the Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network (CPESN) Florida as Luminary. Nationally, she serves on the Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management (APPM) Education Standing Committee for the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). As well as serving on the Community-based PRN Programming Committee for American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). Dr. Finke is the Associate Director for the PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program and primary preceptor for the research learning experience to the resident. She is an active member in state and national pharmacy organizations including Florida Pharmacy Association (FPA), NCPA, APhA, AACP, and ACCP. Current research interests include expansion of community-based pharmacy practice through development and implementation of enhanced services, development of enhanced service coaches, transformation in pharmacy payment models, and transformation in pharmacy workflows. Dr. Finke feels blessed to serve the School of Pharmacy to advance and impact future pharmacists through pharmacy with faith foundation. Dr. Finke lives in Palm Beach County with her newly married husband, Christopher Finke.
