Biography
Dr. Fleigelman has been a registered nurse since 1998 and has had the privilege of working in many positions across the country. Her main area of expertise is in emergency and trauma nursing where she also served as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). She worked to develop the local SANE program and other educational initiatives, writing policies and procedures, and serving the community to promote safe sexual health practices for adults. She is also a legal nurse consultant and was a sole proprietor in this arena. Dr. Fleigelman earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University as a family nurse practitioner and has passionately focused her educational efforts in the area of infectious disease working with HIV-positive patients. She previously served as the health alert coordinator for PBA, served an adjunct professor for the School of Nursing as a clinical instructor, and taught pathophysiology and pharmacology for the undergraduate and RN-BSN students. She has been married to her best friend, Jason, for over 24 years, and has three incredible children whom she had the privilege to home school, where she developed her love for teaching. She is a member of several nurse practitioner and nurse educator organizations, and loves reading, writing, running, and spending time with family. She is currently the lead clinical faculty for the School of Nursing’s graduate FNP program and an assistant professor. She also practices as a family nurse practitioner in primary care near West Palm Beach.
