Biography
Dr. Mwaungulu, a CPA, is the Director of the Master of Accountancy Program at PBAU and also serves as the Advisor of the Accounting Club. He teaches a broad range of accounting classes, including Intermediate Accounting and Advanced Accounting. Dr. Mwaungulu’s research interest is in financial and nonprofit accounting. His scholarly work has been accepted in Issues in Accounting Education and Journal of Forensic Accounting Research. He has also presented his work at the American Accounting Association (AAA) annual and sectional meetings. He has previously worked as a journalist for the Nation Newspaper (which is the largest daily in Malawi), Program Director for Dungarvin Wisconsin, and Resident Care Supervisor at the Wisconsin Department of Health. He has spent the last eight years in accounting, working as a Corporate Auditor for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, Transaction Tax Auditor for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Lecturer of Accountancy at Edgewood College, and as an Assistant Professor at PBAU. Watching soccer is his favorite pastime, and he is a big fan of the Sailfish men’s and women’s soccer teams.
