Biography

David Pounds came to PBA in 2004 after a 23-year teaching and professional career in California. His teaching credits include founding the graphic design program at Concordia University, as well as teaching graphic design and digital illustration courses at the University of California in Los Angeles, the University of California in Irvine, the Art Institute of Los Angeles, Golden West College and Irvine Valley College.

Through “David Pounds Design,” he continues to maintain his freelance graphic design business, working on a variety of marketing and advertising projects, with an emphasis on publication design and corporate identity. His clients have included Disney, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda Motors, ICN Pharmaceuticals, Pacific Mutual Insurance, Sunwest Bank, the United States Hang Gliding Association and the Soaring Society of America.

His graphic design work has appeared in the “Print Magazine” design annual, and his digital illustrations have been featured in the “Illustrator WOW Book”, “Killer Illustrator Tips and Tricks” and the online magazine “Illustratorworld”.

Pounds has had the privilege of being involved in children’s ministry for the last 18 years at Voyagers Bible Church and Calvary Community Church. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, sailing, basketball and, most of all, spending time with his wife, Kookie, and their three children.
