The Department of Public Safety

At PBA, student safety comes first. We devote substantial resources to our Department of Public Safety Office to ensure that all students feel safe anywhere on campus, at any time of the day or night. From campus patrols and escorts to emergency communications and hurricane preparedness, we’re dedicated to providing the safest environment possible.

For Your Peace of Mind

We employ over 20 Public Safety officers who patrol campus—on foot, on bicycles, and via marked vehicles—24 hours a day, seven days a week. All of our Public Safety Officers undergo rigorous training, are certified by the State of Florida, and have access to instant communication with dispatchers, patrol supervisors, and our local law enforcement partners at the West Palm Beach Police Department.

Emergency Call Boxes

With 18 emergency call boxes strategically located across all areas of campus, you’ll never be far from security assistance. These call boxes are well-lit, and you can use them to make on-campus or 911 calls.

They also feature a 911 button in cases of extreme emergencies, which dials directly to West Palm Beach Police.

A Safety Mobile App

There are a number of proactive safety services and technology resources designed to keep students informed about any safety issues at all times. These include PBA Alert and RaveGuardian: The Safety Mobile App. We also offer extensive information and resources with regard to hurricane preparedness. Some of these include social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as email listservs, campus cable and telephone systems, and the PBA website.
