The Department of Dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University offers Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in dance, and as well as a minor in dance. The program equips dancers to combine artistic beauty and technical mastery while integrating faith, which inspires them to become redemptive storytellers. The program offers classical, contemporary, and multicultural dance in a creative and Christ-centered environment led by today’s leading world-renowned faculty, guest choreographers, and scholars. Students have the opportunity to perform on national and international stages and the successful student will apply their transformative experiences to create, perform, and teach dance at a professional level.

The College of Arts offers a distinctive learning experience designed to set graduates apart and launch amazing careers. We’re one of just three schools in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities to offer a major in dance. You’ll be able to take part in more than a dozen vocal, choral, and instrumental groups. Dance majors can participate in several dance concerts, showcases, and productions each year, from classical to contemporary. And you’ll enjoy our Annual International Piano Festival, as well as performances at the internationally known Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, which is within easy walking distance of campus.
You’ll be mentored by acclaimed professionals and performers whose talents have taken them to impressive heights in their industries. One faculty member has performed with musicians Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, and Jon Secada. Another was chosen by Mikhail Baryshnikov to join The American Ballet Theatre, with which she performed for eight years. And don’t forget, a Grammy-Award-winning Metropolitan Opera leading lady (retired).

While each department is focused upon an intensive dedication to the individualized study and practicum within each discipline, the design of the degree programs within the College of the Arts provides for a unique community arena, through which interdisciplinary and collaborative engagements are encouraged and cultivated. Our collaborative efforts extend to external partnerships outside of the university, which aids in broadening the academic experience while disseminating and promoting individual talent within the disciplines. Some of the partnerships involve opportunities for both students and faculty.
