Biography
Dr. McKissick joined Palm Beach Atlantic University as an Assistant Professor of Social and Administrative Sciences following 16 years of experience in leadership and management for the pharmaceutical, community, public health, and hospital industries. He brings comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice experience and invaluable insight from his leadership roles in building the infrastructure for businesses, including community, hospital and operations, for multiple locations as well as the infrastructure in pharmacy law compliance for health care environments.
Dr. McKissick has a passion for training and developing the next generation of pharmacist leaders. His teaching focus is on social and administrative science courses such as Pharmacy Management/Pharmacoeconomics/Informatics, Ethics/Pharmacy Law, Servant-Leadership, and Professionalism/Communication in Pharmacy Practice, amongst others. In addition, he serves as the Director of the PharmD/MBA Dual Degree Program
His areas of research interest include servant leadership, pharmacy administration, as well as Artificial Intelligence and automation relating to the medication use process. He is an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
Dr. McKissick is a graduate of the University of Tennessee (BS Business Administration) and Palm Beach Atlantic University (PharmD). He is licensed as a Consultant Pharmacist in the state of Florida. In 2024, he received the Distinguished Servant Leader award from the Gregory School of Pharmacy alumni council.
