The staff of The Beacon Today won four awards in the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists college competition.
Florida-based college and university broadcasting programs submitted more than 50 entries in the contest, which featured news and sports stories from 2019. The University’s Beacon Today news team swept the radio category with a first-place finish and a finalist. Sailfish TV won first place in public affairs. Sailfish TV reporter Jessica Lykins was a finalist in the Feature | Hard News category.
