Biography

Annie Todd has taught Humanities and Freedom in American Society at Palm Beach Atlantic since 2015.  She currently holds the position of Visiting Lecturer of Politics and Humanities.  A native of Florence, Alabama, Mrs. Todd is a graduate of Bradshaw High School (1999) and is a National Merit Scholar.  She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2003 with a B.A. in international studies (with a concentration in Western European peace and security) and French, Phi Beta Kappa.  She received an M.A. in political science from The University of Alabama in 2013.  As an undergraduate, Mrs. Todd was a Croft Scholar, a member of the McDonnell Barksdale Honors College, and a member of Phi Mu sorority.  She spent a semester at the University of Stirling in Scotland.  Mrs. Todd has participated in travel-study trips to China, England, France, Belgium, and Japan and a mission trip to Ukraine.  Prior to coming to PBA, she taught political science and honors courses at The University of Alabama.

Mrs. Todd’s areas of scholarly interest include world cultures and cuisine, European politics, the history of religion, and art history.  In 2014, she attended the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC) and became certified as a facilitator of the Cultural Detective series.

In her free time, Mrs. Todd enjoys reading, watching documentaries and various kinds of sports, Southern cooking, and travel.  She and her husband, James, and daughter, Elizabeth, are active members of Family Church.
