Biography

Before joining the nursing faculty at PBA, Dr. Sandra Ojurongbe worked as a nursing supervisor at a mental health facility in Broward County. She also worked for several years at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where she worked in the psychiatric and medical-surgical units as a staff nurse. She also has clinical experience in telemetry, gastroenterology, and outpatient surgery. In 2007, she was voted nurse of the year for the psychiatric unit at Mt. Sinai. Dr. Ojurongbe is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international nursing honor society. She is very active in her church, where she volunteers as a coordinator for the women’s health club, and is an ordained missionary. She is happily married to her husband, Adekoye, and they have two children.
