Biography

Prior to joining the nursing faculty at PBA, Dr. Wilson served as nursing faculty at Bethesda College of Health Sciences, and as maternal child adjunct at PBA and Lehigh Carbon Community College. As a registered nurse with 28 years of experience, she has worked primarily in the area of maternal child, as well as adult health. Dr. Wilson demonstrated her clinical expertise in labor & delivery, the mother-baby unit, newborn nursery, and the perinatal high risk unit at the magnet earning Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania. She also demonstrated her leadership experience as a case manager of Lehigh Valley Homecare, coordinating and providing care for homebound patients. Dr. Wilson’s research focus is within the maternal-child environment, specifically in breastfeeding, investigating challenges that new mothers confront. Dr. Wilson is the recipient of the Friends of Nursing Award-Alma Award for Excellence in Home Care Nursing. She is actively involved in Compassion International, and has sponsored a child since 2010; she also has served as a host to the Fresh Air Fund since 2003. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWONN) as well as the Nurse’s Christian Fellowship organization (NCF). Dr. Wilson is an active member at Journey Church West in Boynton Beach. She has been married to husband Scott for 27 years, and she has three grown children.
