Biography
Dr. McDonald was an assistant professor at Abilene Christian University (ACU) from 1996 to 2003. During her time at ACU, she received the Teacher of the Year Award in the College of Arts and Sciences in 2000.
Since coming to PBA, Dr. McDonald, along with Dr. David Compton, chartered and serves as the faculty advisor for Psi Chi, a national honor society in psychology. Dr. McDonald also serves as the advisor for the Psychology Club. She has made over 30 presentations at the regional and national level with student co-authors and has published in the Journal of Psychology and Theology and Journal of Psychology and Christianity. Dr. McDonald’s specialty areas are developmental, social psychology and statistics. She presently is serving as the Departmental Coordinator.
Dr. McDonald’s current research interests are attachment to God and other psychology of religion areas. She is a member of a national group of evangelical researchers, the Institute for Research on Psychology and Spirituality, that meets annually at Rosemead School of Psychology.
